The Latest in Natural Healing and Supplements

By December 7, 2015Holistic Health

Last weekend I had the pleasure to attend the “Whole Life Expo” in Toronto. This is an annual big health show that’s held in the Metro Toronto Convention Center and will usually have exhibitors from all over Canada promoting different products and services for natural health support. As a holistic nutritionist, I’ve been going to this show for 5 years.

I really enjoyed the show this year which was a good opportunity to refresh, meet old buddies and amazing heart-centered natural health practitioners in other fields of natural healing. It’s also a good chance to stay on top of the latest in natural healing and supplements in the holistic nutrition market.

Feeling like a kid in a candy store more than a holistic nutritionist and after about 6 hours in the exhibition area, I ended up with 2 large bags full of samples, brochures and purchased goodies. These included natural products that I like to stock on such as facial wash, toothpaste, hemp seeds and herbal teas, as well as other stuff that I was irresistibly attracted to such as a natural quartz stone, lemon pure essential oil and a healing music CD. I usually allow myself to splurge a little bit on that day, so no guilt feelings here!

Now let me give you a list of the products that caught my attention this year in the Expo. I’ll discuss the last one of them in detail because I think it’s something that can help many people struggling with chronic health issues especially inflammatory conditions such as allergies and high cholesterol, digestive health issues, heart disease and cancer.

  • Pure natural sugar cane juice-now available in cans. Natural sugar cane juice is known for supporting kidney health.
  • Non-electrical heating pads that can provide instant therapeutic heat to the area of pain or tension.
  • Essential oil diffusing bracelet. A smart way of adding essential oils to your daily life. Essential oils are known for their many health benefits and use in aromatherapy.
  • Color therapy using colors and scents
  • Fulvic acid mud baths and liquid supplement

What is Fulvic Acid?

Fulvic acid is a natural health promoting substance that has always occurred naturally yet its tremendous value is now just beginning to be recognized by the natural health community.

It’s extracted from peatlands that contain humic and fulvic acids. These are types of “humic substances,” the major components of organic matter found in the soil.

They result from the decomposing action of millions of microscopic microorganisms on dead plants and animals. This decomposition process produces many beneficial by products which are absorbed back into the soil and give it the high energy properties required for a healthy soil. Fulvic acid is one of the most beneficial by products of this process.

In part 2, I will discuss the health benefits of fulvic acid and why it might be a good super food supplement to your diet.
