Are you overwhelmed? Do you sometimes feel that there is too much going on in your life? And you secretly wish you can press the pause button right now for just a few hours. Or escape to a place where life is quiet and peaceful.

With this pandemic and lock downs, life is very different for most of us. But we still have to manage our daily matters among all this chaos. There is a lot of uncertainty, anxiety and new challenges showing up and this can bring heaviness and anxiety. If you are a sensitive person, you can also be unconsciously absorbing more of this collective energy into your body which makes it even more overwhelming.

Like you, I feel overwhelmed at times. So I want to share with you 3 tips to help overcome this overwhelm and let go of any negative emotions that are weighing you down.

3 Tips to Overcome Overwhelm

These are easy and simple things you can do anytime to help you relax and release any unwanted negative thoughts that can be stressing you and causing overwhelm:

1-Breathing-the breath is a powerful way of moving energy in the body. It’s also the fastest and easiest way to switch from a stressed to a relaxed state. Just make sure you are breathing from your belly not your chest. Take a deep breath in through your nose, hold for a few seconds and then exhale through your mouth on a longer count than the inhale. Repeat at least 5 times or until you feel more relaxed.

2-Essential Oils-essential oils are the concentrated oils extracted from flowers and plants. They represent the immune system of the plant. Many of these oils have been proven scientifically to have very powerful medicinal properties on a physical, mental and emotional level. The beauty of essential oils is that when you inhale them, they can have immediate effect on your state, as they go directly to the brain through the nose. You can inhale them by using a diffuser or simply by applying a drop or two of the oil to a tissue and inhaling. My favorite essential oils for stress are ylang ylang, rose, black spruce, chamomile and lavender.

3-Color Visualization-Color therapy is also a powerful technique to shift your thoughts and emotions in a few minutes. Close your eyes and visualize an emerald green color pouring over your whole body from above and then moving through your spine and surrounding your heart area. You can then affirm to yourself that this emerald green color is taking away any pressure and stress and revitalizing your nervous system. I know it sounds simple but give it a try!

Back to YOU

These are the techniques I personally use and they really work well. So if you feel overwhelmed try one of the above techniques or  use them altogether. From my experience, I find that a combination of the three works best, but feel free to experiment with each one alone first and see what works best for you.

I offer tele-coaching via phone or Zoom, so I can help you even if you are out of area. Sign up for a 15 Min Discovery Call to discuss your health concerns or life goals and ask how I can help.
